Obituary For Mother Betty Mitchell Ginn

~OBITUARY~

Betty M. Ginn was born to Leroy and Rosalee Mitchell on October 31, 1946, in Estill, South Carolina. She passed on November 29, 2020 at the age of 74 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware.

Betty was raised in New Jersey with her parents and went on to we Levi Ginn on October 2, 1965.

In the late 60's early 70's Betty studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses encouraging her to dedicate her life on August 5, 1972. Betty had the privilege of serving as a regular pioneer.

Betty was employed at the Department of Transportation where she retired from her position in the year of 2002 after 30 years.

Betty enjoyed cooking and loved to travel. She traveled so many places around the world with her family & her friends. Every year she would take her parents, children and grandchildren on vacation, whether it was her hometown South Carolina, Virginia and Disney world. Her kids and grandkids went to Disney world every year. She would take cruises all over the world with her friends Elaine, Mal, Lucy, Barbara Harrington, Barbara Smalls, Pat Walls and so many other friends. She also loved her family deeply and would do anything for them. She loved when her family got together for family reunions to celebrate FAMILY! You could call on Betty for anything no matter what she would be there for you. Betty was considered the FAMILY ICON. We will miss her dearly and carry on her LEGACY!

Betty is preceded by her husband: Levi Ginn, Parents: Leroy & Rosalee Mitchell, mother-in-law: Emma Ginn, siblings: Leroy Mitchell Jr. (Flick), Hassie Walker and Mamie Williams. Aunts and Uncles: Rosalee Mitchell, Horny Mitchell, Eddie and Bert Mitchell, Mable Mitchell, Florie Mitchell, Florence and John Ferguson, Jake Williams, Bubba Williams, Louvenia Williams, Benjamin Gordon, Andrew Sanders Sr. & Aaron Gaffney Sr. In-laws: Rainey Mitchell, Carrie Ritter, Wendy Ginn, Garfield Ginn & William Ginn. Niece: Barbara-Ann Tyre and Cousin Janice Roberson. Best friends: Barbara Harrington, Marty Clark & Rhea Coles.

Betty leaves behind two daughters, Jacquelyn (Ansell), Sherri (Orlando), one son Sean; Her grandchildren , Shakierra & Sanaa. One great grandchild, Jailyn. One brother, Jimmie Lee Woods & two brothers-in-law, Jimmy and Roy Ginn and one sister-in-law, Ethel (Tut) Ginn. Her aunts, Ophelia Sanders, Cora Gordon & Eva Gaffney. Nieces and nephews, Rochelle (Ernest), Troy Mitchell, Vicky Woods, Jimmie Lee Woods Jr., Aaron Gaffney, Eddie Ginn, Lamont (Tiera) Ginn and a host of other nieces and nephews. Special cousins Yvonne Gaffney, Shirley & Tiffany Williams, Willie Ferguson, Tammy Gordon, Jeanette Foster, Andrew Sanders, Woodrow Albright and a host of other cousins and family. Her close friends Denise Fleming, Malcenia Ray, Donna Mitchell & Elaine Hephburn. Leah Williams had a very special bond with Betty and we thank Cousin Leah for being by her side when she passed away.

Betty will be dearly missed by her family, friends and Christian Brotherhood. We look forward to the day we meet again when all things are made new in Paradise.
