A Time to Be Born
On March 12, 1965 in Clewiston, FL the late Velton and Eliza Brown welcomed their oldest daughter into the world.
Her Life Interest
Elisa was the proud oldest sister of 5 girls (which she constantly reminded them) and she held her title well. As a young girl, Elisa attended Moore Haven Elementary School and Moore Haven Jr.-Sr. High School. Alongside her classmates, she graduated June of 1983. As a young adult, Elisa relocated to North Carolina where she lived with her father’s sister (Susie Freeman). Later she moved further north to New York and lived with her mother’s sisters (Joann, Francine, and Peggy) and her younger sister (Velma). While living in New York, Elisa became the mother of her only child (Sheree Monique Blackett Rich). Several years later Elisa, Sheree, and Velma moved to Tampa, FL. Eventually Elisa relocated back to her hometown of Moore Haven, FL where she resided until her final days. During Elisa’s life journey she held several jobs. No matter what job she held, she met many people who later became her friends. Elisa was definitely a people person. She didn’t mind helping others in any way she could such as babysitting, being someone’s chauffeur or simply giving words of advice. Elisa was a very patient and loving lady who never met a stranger. Some of Elisa’s most loving parts of her life was when she became a mama to her daughter Sheree, a grandmother to her granddaughters Nadiyah and Naomi, a godmother to Demetrius and a mother-in-law to Christopher. Her Service
As a child, Elisa attended First Missionary Baptist Church in Moore Haven, FL where she attended Sunday school and was a member of the youth choir. In her adult life, she became a member of Pentecostal Faith Cathedral under the leadership of Apostle Robert E. Bell in Moore Haven, FL.
