Lamar Young

Lamar Young, 89, peacefully entered eternal rest on Dec. 3, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his wife Gladys Young. They were married for Sixty-six years. Mr. Young was the son of the late Mr. Ed Young and Annie Mae Young. He was employed with Southern Railway for 45 years in Spartanburg, SC. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his daughters: deceased daughter. Geraldline Young, Delois Young, Deborah Robinson, both the home; Melody (Terry) Murray, of Spartanburg, SC and Andrea Young of Atlanta, GA (Norcross). Three grandchildren: Shondrey (LaShaundral) of Mobile, Al (reared in the home); Terrance (Tasha) Murray of Spartanburg, SC; Carlos (Shimeco) Murray of Atlanta, GA (Lilburn). Nine Great grandchildren: Zicorian Legg (Zi), Nariah Legg, Jordan Brooks, Shondrey Young, Jr (DJ), Tamia Head, Sheldon Young, Saniah Head, Caison Murray, and Malaiya Murray. One great-great child; Wynter Rendleman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lamar was preceded in death by his sister and brothers; Floree Young Dandy, Euglas Young, Edward Young and Perry Young.

A Celebration of the Life of Lamar Young will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC. Rev. Leon Wright will officiate.
