Mr. Lewis Napier

Deacon Lewis Napier was born on April 9, 1937 to the parentage of the late Mr. June Napier and the late Mrs. Velma Campbell Napier. He received his education in the public school system of Yatesville, GA. His parents were very much interested in his spiritual life and at a very early age he was taught to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Under their guidance, he joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Deacon Napier was a family-oriented man and at an early age, he was united in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Ruby Tysinger Napier. Deacon Napier’s work history started as a farm helper and he went on to further his employment with Thompson Meat Processing Center, Thomaston Mills, and the William Carter Company from which he retired in early 2000. He was a very ambitious person and throughout his service he was recognized as a dedicated, determined, and dependable employee. After retirement, Deacon Napier spent most of his time gardening, visiting the sick and the elderly, cooking, and showing gestures of love to all whom he came in contact. Additionally, he enjoyed assisting with community events. Deacon Napier was always excited about serving the Lord. He served as Chairman of the Deacon Board at Mt. Zion, President of the Mt. Hope Deacon’s Union, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher and faithfully supported the All Denominational Choir Association. He always gave of his time. Financial support, and talent for the up building of God’s Kingdom. Deacon Napier was always “Thanking” God for his life and his favorite saying was “I Won’t Complain.” He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, two brothers and two sisters-in-law. On November 30, 2020, God called Deacon Napier’s name and he answered. He leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, Kiara Johnson, a granddaughter, Tiana Way, one sister-in-law, Ms. Savannah Napier, one brother-in-law, Mr. Douglas Ragland Sr, a devoted niece Linda McGill (Rev J.C. McGill) and a devoted nephew Douglas Ragland Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who miss him dearly.
