Sam Proctor, Jr. was born October 29, 1952 in Monticello, FL to Sam Proctor Sr. and Rosetta Noble Proctor. He attended Howard Academy High School in Monticello, FL and graduated in the Class of 1970. He also attended Tallahassee Community College. He was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country until retirement. He was employed and retired from Duke Energy. Sam was a faithful member of Ashville New Jerusalem Baptist Church. He served faithfully until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his devoted wife, Shirley A. Proctor, his sons: Auyum Proctor and Sam Proctor III of Tallahassee, FL, Terrin Arnold of Quitman, GA; his daughters: Tenjurie (Charles) Durham of North Wales, PA, Michelle Proctor and Tamiko Proctor (Gregory) Glenn of Tallahassee, FL; the joys of his life that will miss him dearly, his twelve grandchildren: Shardeya Turner, Takiaya Durham, Destiny Proctor, Terrin Arnold Jr., Shyneil Proctor, Malcolm Arnold, Kamai Proctor, Darnell Paramore, Brielle Proctor, Amir Proctor, Jaela Proctor, and Sarai Proctor; two-great grandchildren, Maliyah Turner and Skyla Mitchell.
To also cherish his precious memories are his sisters: Daisy M. (James Sr.) Gloster, Jacksonville, FL and Rosa L. (Lawrence) Jones of Madison, FL; his brother John (Barbara) Proctor of Tallahassee, FL; his father-in-law, Willie Arnold, Sr. of Monticello, FL; Sam also leaves behind to grieve, his close friend and colleague Gary Glee of Madison, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Sr. and Rosetta Noble Proctor, mother-in-law Rebecca Arnold, grandson Charles Durham Jr. and siblings, Roosevelt, Junious, Freddie Lee, Catherine, Idella, Elnora, and Nancy.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 12:30PM at New Jerusalem M.B. Church Cemetery with Rev. Alonza Fudge, officiating. Continue to keep the Proctor Family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
