Obituary For Sarah Curry Threatt

A celebration of life for Sarah Curry Threatt, 75, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega. Pastor Timothy Caldwell will deliver the eulogy. The service will be livestreamed on Terry’s Mortuary Facebook page. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sarah Curry Threatt began her life on earth in Talladega, Alabama on December 12, 1944, to the union of Pyeather Curry and Minnie Gooden Curry.

Mrs. Threatt committed her life to Christ and Belview Missionary Baptist Church became her church home. She was educated in the schools of Talladega and it culminated at Westside High School. Sarah was previously employed with Talladega College, but after finding the love of her life she found her greatest joy in caring for her family. On June 5, 1968, Rufus T. Threatt took Sarah’s hand in marriage and they spent the next 52 years together for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death did they part.

Mrs. Threatt began her life in eternity on the evening of December 10, 2020, at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. She was reunited with her daughter, Kimberly Threatt; her parents, Pyeather and Minnie Curry; two brothers, Richard Curry and Thomas “Tommy” Curry; and two sisters, Bernice Adams and Evelyn Jackson.

Sarah is survived by her husband and love her of life, Rufus T. Threatt of Talladega, Alabama; two daughters, Ursula (Dandrick) Reynolds of Alpine, Alabama and Norda Threatt of Childersburg, Alabama; one son, Andra (Mary) Threatt of Lincoln, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Asia (Quintavious) Curry, DeAndria (Jonwinton) Lawrence, Jordon Fomby, Tiera Toyer, Andrew Threatt, Corey Threatt and George Threatt; three sisters, Doris Traylor of Talladega, Alabama, Betty Fuller and Elsie Cameron of Rochester, New York; two brothers, Willie Lee (Patricia) Curry and Lee Curtis (Brenda) Curry of Talladega, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Carol Vincent and Rosie E. Curry of Talladega, Alabama; one Goddaughter, Jacola Cook; two special friends, Jennifer White and Rose Haynes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
