The Obituary

Mr. Alvin Clayton Brinson was born on July 25, 1955 in Quitman, GA to Deacon Wesley Brinson and Mother Frankie M. Brinson. He departed this earthly life on December 9, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. At a young Alvin accepted Christ and joined Mount Moriah Holiness Church in Valdosta, Georgia. He was educated in the Brooks County School System. He was employed by Central Freight Company in Valdosta, GA. Alvin was joined in marriage to Mrs. Alma Council Brinson in May 22, 2004 in Valdosta, GA. Alvin and Alma enjoined traveling, singing and attending comedy shows. Always one for laughter, Alvin loved in person comedy shows, television and his cartons.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Deacon Wesley Brinson and Mother Frankie M. Brinson; siblings, Apostle Charles Spencer Johnson, Betty Gene Crawford, Deborah Ann Brinson, and Mary Evelyn Brinson; and nephew Ronald Christopher Riley.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife Alma Council Brinson of Valdosta, GA, two daughters Iyanna Thaxton of Atlanta, GA and Attorney Marilyn Moss Carter of Albany, GA; two sons Stephen Brinson and Brian Brinson; siblings Donnie Brinson (Gwen), Alma Riley (Roland), Laverne Brinson and Brenda Brinson Tunstell (Mark) all of Atlanta, GA; Ronnie Brinson of Douglas, GA; Janice Brinson and Gertrude Brinson of Forest Park, GA; Grandchildren Marquavios Thaxton, Deshon Thaxton, Deshonda Thaxton and Dontay Patterson all of Atlanta, GA; his mother in law Mrs. Betty M. Council of Valdosta, GA; in laws Olivia Council Dunn, Attorney James F. Council, Jr and Arnell Council all of Valdosta, GA and Frederica Council Jones of Dublin, GA. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends and best friend Tony Carter.

A home going service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 3PM at South View Cemetery with Pastor Jackie Hargrow, eulogist. Visitation will be Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 5PM-7PM. Continue to keep the Brinson Family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
