Derek Maurice Willis, Sr., 33, of Palatka, FL was born to George Washington and Pamela Willis in Elizabeth city, North Carolina. He was married to Vanna Willis “Jackson” on July 13, 2010 in Trenton, FL. He loved sports (Florida Gators), his children and spending time with his family. He attended Palatka High. He was preceded in eternal rest by his grand parents, Izeal Willis, Sr. and Annie Willis, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Robinson, aunt, Deborah “Debbie” Willis, great aunt, Katie Willis, Brittany Beauford-Braelyn's mom. He leaves to cherish his memories: Fiancée, Tyesha Session, father, George Washington, mother, Pamela Willis, sons, D’Amarie Willis, Kaidrin Willis, Ja’zari Calhoun, D’Kari Calhoun, Derek Willis, Jr., Zyair Makhi, Derrius Willis, Demarion Willis, Kingston Cook Willis, daughters, Jazaria McCracken, Syriah Walker, Antwaneshia Ham, Skyler Smith, Laniya Ham, Da’vonna Willis, Demi Willis, Braelyn Willis, Da’nell Guyton Willis, D’Avah Willis, brothers, Willie Hayward, Jr., Lashane Washington, sisters, Sha’kia Willis, Dacious Torrance, Daphen Washington, Kierra Washington, Khadeja Allen, cousin/uncle, Craig Lyons, cousins, William McKinnon, Vincent Mitchell, god brother, Kenneth Moore. The Willis Family will receive friends and the community on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Passionate First Born Church of the Living God, Superintendent James Mathews, Pastor. The Homegoing Celebration will be 2:45 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020 at The Lord’s Temple. Pastor Christopher T. Coleman, eulogist. The burial will take place in Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka, FL.
