Wilbur Lee St. John, 82 of Bowie, TX, passed away Monday, December 14th, 2020 in Decatur, TX.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Salona Cemetery in Bowie.

Wilbur was born July 13, 1938 in Bowie, TX to A.J. and Nell (Taylor) St. John. He served his country in the United States Army for 6 years, stationed in Alaska and Germany. After his service he joined the V.F.W. wherever he lived, and enjoyed being a member of the organization. Wilbur retired and moved back to Bowie, and stayed a very active member of the local V.F.W. in Bowie. He volunteered many hours and supported all of their projects.

He is preceded in death by his wife Joan St. John, parents A.J. and Lanell St. John, sister Linda Tomlin and nieces Stacy Tomlin and Shelley Hughes.

Wilbur is survived by his special friend Patsy Posey; son Randy Vines and wife Tess of Waco, TX; grandson Max Vines of Waco; granddaughter Jennifer Ingle of Dallas, TX; granddaughter-in-law Lexi Scott of Waco; great-grandsons William Jacob Vines of Dallas, River Lynn Vines of Waco, and Latham James Niles of Waco; sister Janice Preuninger of Oklahoma City; and Alta Jo Kleinhans of Bowie; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, several cousins and some special friends.
