On June 22, 1939, Hue Edward Williams, affectionately called “Tee”, was born to the late Rev. Robert Williams Sr. and Annie Mae Howard Williams, in Gough, Georgia. The 4th oldest of 5 children, he was preceded in death by his brother, the Late Woodrow Williams and sister, the late Annie L. Williams Powell. Tee grew up spending many days in Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, over which his father presided for many years. Tee graduated from the infamous Class of 1958 from Gifford High School, where he wore number 23 as a star Running Back on the celebrated Gifford Tigers football team. He was also known for his melodious voice as a soloist and member of the chorus. Tee went on to work for Piper Aircraft, and also worked for a lumber company before joining Gifford Middle School’s custodial team, where he worked until his retirement from Indian River County School District. Tee shared a happy marriage with Angela Williams until her passing in 1997.

A man of many talents, Tee played in a softball league and was an avid bowler. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed gardening. Above all, Tee loved spending time chatting with buddies and classmates, most of all he cherished quality time with his lifelong and best friend Gene Perry. As a widow, Tee found love again with Laverne, his companion of 20 years. He enjoyed warm friendships with his neighbors Emmett & Letha Lane, and George & Venita Carter. Tee had an endearing spirit and was known for getting along with everybody. On December 15th God called Hue Edward home to eternal rest.

Tee is survived by his brothers Robert Williams Jr., and Lee Williams, Daughters Sheryll Williams Norwood and Lynne Williams Johnson, Stepson Tory Lampkin, Granddaughters Brittney Norwood, Naomi Johnson Singleterry (DJ Singleterry), Celeste Norwood, Monet Johnson, and Latoria Lampkin, Great-grands, Jaylen & Keonna Norwood, Brandon & Serenity Neal, son-in-law Boe Norwood, companion Laverne Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4 - 7 p.m. on at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel.
