Kenneth Wayne Carlisle Sr. was born on July 1, 1961 to Dorothy Carlisle-Davenport and the late Sylvester Davis. He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend H.L. Spruill of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing.
He graduated from Emma Sansom High School, class of 1979. Furthering his education and training to become the first black, Tool and Dye Maker at Gulf State Steel Plant. He united in Holy Matrimony with Cynthia D. Jones on November 26, 1983. From this union they welcomed his only son and two daughters.
Kenneth was a devoted father and husband. He enjoyed bowling so much, so he bowled “The Perfect Game” in 1998. He was a man of many trades and could fix anything. He retired from Honda Manufacturing in 2018. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Mr. Lee and Elnora Carlisle. His father, the late Mr. Sylvester Davis and brother, the late, Daryl Andre Groce.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Mrs. Cynthia D. Carlisle. Three loving children: Kenneth (Erica) Carlisle Jr. of Albertville, AL.,Cynnetta and Tameka Carlisle, both of Gadsden. Siblings; Darryl (Earnestine) Carlisle of Atlanta, GA., William Harvey of New, Jersey, Antonio Davis of Nashville, TN., Angela (Brad) Rivers of Atlanta, GA., Victoria Luke of California, and Tracy (Alwin) Underwood of Attalla, AL. Mother; Mrs. Dorothy Carlisle-Davenport of Gadsden, AL. Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Danny & Doris Jones of Gadsden, AL. A special aunt; Anna Ruth Guyton of Gadsden, AL. Seven grandchildren; Xzavier Carlisle, Cyniah Sandridge, Kentavis Carlisle, Andre Johnson Jr., Jayde Carlisle, Kennadi Carlisle and Alivia Samuels. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, December 29,2020 5pm-7pm.
Services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Mt. Pigrim Baptist Church. Burial at Lincoln Hills Memorial Gardens.
