Obituary For Norman Vincent Cotton

Norman Vincent Cotton transitioned this early home after a lengthy battle with cancer on December 30, 2020 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. "Vincent" as he was called by most of his family and close friends was born to the late Lavelle Cotton and Julia Ann Anderson Cotton on December 14, 1959 in Ackerman, Mississippi.

Norman was married to Patricia Nettles on September 19, 2010. Patricia stayed by his side comforting and taking care of him during his final days.

Vincent accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Kosciusko, Mississippi. He attended Tipton Street and Kosciusko Public Schools. He later attended Golden Triangle Trade School and worked many years as a deck hand for Warren Gulf Petroleum Company and Northrop Grumman traveling up and down the Mississippi River.

Norman was later employed at Nissan Motor Company where he worked for 15 years until his health failed. He most recently enrolled in The Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Duluth, Georgia to pursue studies in Aviation Maintenance. He was one of the top students in this class.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife: Patricia Cotton of Kosciusko, Mississippi; two loving daughters: Lakeisha Granderson (James) of Sallis, MS and Stephanie Jackson of Kosciusko, Mississippi; one devoted son: Tonthiea Jackson of Mobile, Alabama; four step-sons: Robert McCaskill of Albuquerque, NM, William McCaskill (Shameka) of Arlington, VA, Walter Nutall (Lashundra) of Ft. Worth, TX, and Nicholas Perteet of Kosciusko, MS and one step-daughter: Jakai Kilbert of Kosciusko, MS; six siblings: Sylvia Cotton and Carolyn Cotton Bland (James) of Robinsonville, MS, Raymond Cotton (Gwen) of Kosciusko, MS, Aaron Cotton of Oklahoma City, OK, Renee Cotton Scott (Barren) of Ridgeland, MS and Stephanie Cotton Hodge of Brandon, MS; one brother-in-law: Roderick Nettles (Shemeka) of Jackson, MS; one sister-in-law: Natalie Daniels (Rev. Timothy) of Kilmichael, MS; two aunts: Alzenia Catchings of Kosciusko, MS, Dorothy Anderson of French Camp, MS; five uncles: Manual Cotton (Alpaulthenia) and MacArthur Cotton of Kosciusko, MS, Nathaniel Cotton (Liz) of Mobile, AL, Johnny David Anderson (Irma) of French Camp, MS and Hozell Anderson of Goodlettsville, TN and 19 grandchildren.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, four step-sisters, one step-brother and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. PLACE OF GRAVESIDE: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS
