In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Tason Lee Foreman.
Catherine was a dedicated servant for the Lord. She was a faithful member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Pianist for 52 years. During that time she was the pianist for four choirs. She was a devoted member of the Adult Sunday School class and Wednesday Night Bible Study. She also served as a pianist for the Seventh Day Adventist Church for 25 years as well as the pianist for Mt Zion AME Church for a number of years. She was a Lifetime member of the Smith River Baptist Association. She was a licensed daycare provider for many years and a piano teacher who taught music in her home.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Valerie (John) Swanson; three sons, Frank (Benita) Hairston, Michael (Amina) Hairston all of Martinsville, VA, and Kevin Hairston of Orlando, FL; one stepdaughter, Yvette Foreman and one stepson Tason L. Foreman, Jr. both of Martinsville, VA; a brotherly cousin, Theodore Sherron of Columbus, OH; and she considered Reginia W. Abbott of Martinsville, VA, and Paige Turner of Greensboro, NC as close family members. She loved and will be remembered by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Carver Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Eric Hairston, Eulogist. a public viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, 1416 Cardinal Lane, Martinsville, VA. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing will be required.
