Mrs. Coreen “Coot” Walker of Hamilton Georgia departed this life at 86 peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

Coreen was born June 12, 1934 to the late Nathan and Nellie Bridges Sr. in Hamilton, Georgia. In 1952 she married Mr. Charlie C. Walker Sr. and to this union 9 children were born. Coreen and Charlie spent the first year of their marriage in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In 1953 they returned to Georgia where she would spend the rest of her life.

Coreen dedicated her life to Christ and was a faithful member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Hamilton, Georgia.

She was known to everyone as “Grandma Coot” and everyone who came to visit her would look for their picture on the “Wall of Fame”.

Grandma Coot was known for her powerful hug that could literally take your breath away. She will be truly missed by all those who experienced her love and affection. She is preceded in death by her parents Nathan and Nellie Bridges; brothers: Vorn C, William and Thomas Bridges; sisters: Madie Dozier, Vera Williams and Carrie Harris; one sister-in-law: Fannie Robinson and 3 grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Charlie C. Walker Jr. (Christine), Ross Walker (Cora), Roy Walker, Willis Walker (Yolanda), Zebedee Walker, Clent Walker (Pam) and Jamieson Grier (Michelle), daughters: Reginia Cuffy (Nate), Nellie Wiliams (Willie), Shelia Sanders and Ruby Sparks (Kenneth); God-daughter : Tammy Edmonds (CJ); 4 brothers: Johnnie, Nathan Jr. , Lester and George Bridges (Ann); 3 sisters: Fannie Mason, Emma Harvey and Martha Fannin (Charlie) ; 26 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 1PM to 3PM Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Terry Family Funeral Home 145 North College Street Hamilton, Georgia. There will be a graveside service Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Murphy Family Cemetery 1020 Calhoun Rd Hamilton Georgia. Face coverings are required and social distancing will be enforced.
