Obituary For Mrs. Barbara Williams

Barbara Ann Peterkin Wright Williams, was the daughter of Ulysses Nicholson Sr. and Ella Bell Peterkin Parker. She was born on February 14, 1952 in Blenheim, South Carolina. Barbara departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Carolinas MUSC Florence, South Carolina. She was reared by the late Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Peterkin.

Barbara attended high school in Blenheim, South Carolina where she graduated from Wright High School and went to further her education at Clinton Junior College in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Barbara was the Valedictorian of high school class of 1969 and among her many accomplishments, she was a faithful server as a Jehovah Witness for thirty-two years. She was employed at Major’s Cleaners in Dillon, South Carolina for many years until she retired. She had a list of people and things that she loved and cared for dearly, but she had a special love for her dog.

Barbara was preceded in death along with the Peterkins; her husband: Ray Charles Williams; her loving daughter: Charise Nicole Peterkin Washington, and her brother: Ulysses Nicholson Jr.

Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ her son: Dominick Wright of Omaha, NB; her daughters: Shearonda Peterkin of Dillon, SC and Jarekia {James} Harris of Palm Bay, FL, Jamekia Wright of the home; grandchildren: Jazmin Wright of Lawrenceville, GA, Jareshia Wright of the home, Jaterious Hemingway, Jameshia Harris of Palm Bay, FL; a special grandson: Syquane Owens; four sisters: Deborah {Charlie} Reaves, Tonja {Ronald} McCall, Lorriane {Mervin} Mays, and Donna Parker; six brothers: Jerry, Kelvin, Barry, Michael, Harold and Alan; aunts: Annie Jane, Eula Mae and Annie Lee; uncles: George and Moses; four special cousins: Brenda, Cassandra, Betty Jean and Bertha; a special step-mom: Shirley Nicholson; a special aunt-n-law: Mary Alice Boatwright; special friends: Ruth Jones, Patricia Grantham, Annie Doris Jacobs, Nancy Hargrove, Mary Ann; her spiritual family congregation at Jehovah Witness and a host of other relatives and friends. Barbara’s last words - “Don’t give up, accept it, and do the best that we can to stay faithful.”

To all my cousins, I am so sorry for the lost of your mother untimely death, Barbara Ann was a wonderful lady and I thank God for the many memories with her when I was a young teenager growing up in Blenheim S.C. I do understand that this is a very difficult time for everyone, but please focus on the wonderful life that she lived and how much she loved everyone. To the family and Friends is Sister Williams, my deepest sympathy to you in your time of sorrow. Words can express how much I'm going to miss Barbara. We had so much fun yard sale hunting and at the auction at Tommy Wallace but most of all pioneering together. I'll miss her telling me about her granddaddy & grandma's old sayings. Her fishing stories and fact that I wound't eat river or pond fish. She was always going to cook me some that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. She loved Jehovah and looked forward to the new world and all the grand promises that Almighty by mean of Jesus that awaits all who served Jehovah faithfully. As Barbara takes a nap my we build our relationship with her God Jehovah. It was her hope that her family would come to know the Good of all comfort Jehovah.
