Obituary For Mr. Cecil Hernadoes Johnson

Cecil Hernadoes Johnson, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 31, 2020 at WFBH High Point Medical Center. Cecil was born on April 27, 1958 in High Point, NC, the son of the late Johnny Motley and Willie Mae Johnson-Ingram. He was also preceded in death by his son, Johnathan Johnson; maternal grandparents, Willie Bee and Janie Mae Johnson.

His life was spent in High Point, NC, where he attended High Point City Schools and then later joined the United States Army. He worked for the City of High Point and went on later to own a joint business with Zimmerman Enterprises Services.

Cecil confessed his life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member at First Emmanuel Baptist Church in High Point, NC under the leadership of Rev. Ray Campbell.

Cecil was a kind, gentle, loving soul that was loved by many people. He always had a smile and loved his family deeply. He loved sports and his favorite teams were Philadelphia Eagles and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Cecil leaves to cherish his loving memory his faithful wife for over twenty years, Jacqueline Johnson of the home; two sons, Cecil Jackson of Seattle, Washington and Jamel Zimmerman of High Point, NC; three daughters, Taurus Leach of High Point, NC, Rhonda Zimmerman of Nashville, Tennessee and Benita Zimmerman of Chapel Hill, NC; his mother Ms. Willie Mae Ingram of High Point, NC; one brother, William Johnson of High Point, NC; two sisters, Sara Denise Mingo and Davida Johnson both of High Point, NC; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Dot Green and Darlene Zimmerman of Bennettsville, SC; two brothers-in-law Edward (Kathey) Bridges of Wallace, SC and Tony Miller of Gibson, NC; special nephew, Duck Duck of High Point, NC; special niece, Money Money of High Point, NC; special son, Tymere Zimmerman of Columbia, SC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
