Obituary For Julius McDow

Mr. Julius Leon McDow, 67, was the son of the late Julius and Iva Lee Benson McDow. He was born September 14, 1953 in Lancaster, South Carolina. He entered eternal rest January 2, 2021. Leon was married to Reverend Lauressa Clyburn McDow.

Leon was a member of Mt. Carmel AME Zion Church.

Leon was educated in the Lancaster County School System and was a 1971 graduate of Hillside High School in Heath Springs, SC. Survivors are his wife, Reverend Lauressa McDow of Lancaster, SC; four sons, Leonard Hood, Montello Hood, Ra’Kwon Grier, and Mikel Stewart all of Lancaster, SC.; three sisters, Rositta Hough (Hazer) and Martha Mobley (William) of Lancaster, SC., and Terri Rutledge (Johnny) of Greensboro, NC.; one brother, Willie J. McDow (Brenda) of Fort Lawn, SC; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Carmel AME Zion Church by presiding elder Reverend Dr. Robert E. Christian and Reverend Harold Jones.

Viewing will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home.
