Obituary For William Bell

William Marcella “Boo” Bell, a beloved son, devoted uncle and true friend, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the age of 41.

Born on March 7, 1979 to Barbara Bell and the late Wood C. Bell, William was known throughout his life to be a generous and gentle soul. As a young man, William accepted Christ as his personal savior and was a member of Watson Chapel A.M.E. Church.

He graduated from Port Gibson High School in 1997 and from Alcorn State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. After graduating, he gained employment as a laboratory metrologist for the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce. In 2009, William was initiated into the Eta Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He returned to Alcorn State to complete his education and graduated in 2013 with a master's degree in Computer Science.

William also served as a Past Worshipful Master of John G. Jones Lodge #3.

William was preceded in death by his father, Wood C. Bell; sister, Wanda M. Noble; paternal grandparents, Henry and Anna Bell; maternal grandparents, David and Laura Noble; and other relatives.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Bell of Russum, MS; two nieces, Tamara Bell and Ty’Ayshia Noble both of Russum, MS; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at McCay Cemetery located in Lorman, MS on China Grove Church Road. The service is scheduled for Saturday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael A. White officiating.

All attendees are asked to wear face masks and practice social distancing when interacting with other attendees who do not live in the same household.

I have known William since the first time we started going to Alcorn State to get our trucks and calibration cans calibrated it was always a pleasure to talk to him he always had a smile on his face enjoyed his company he will be sadly missed
