After moving to Eden, NC, Kent became a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus and the Gospel Choir. In 1973, he met Brenda Broadnax and on December 15, 1979, in New London, CT, the two wed. From this union, two children, Adrian Kent Petite, Jr., and LaKeisha Bianca Petite. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Brenda K. Petite, sister, Lavaughn Hartwell and brother, Phillip R. Petite.

Kent leaves to cherish his memories: son; Adrian K. Petite, Jr. (Angela), daughter; LaKeisha B.
