Obituary For Mr. Lester C Tensley

Mr. Lester C. Tensley, also known as the "99centman", of Dothan, Alabama and formerly of Marianna, entered peacefully into the arms of God at the age of 70, on Tuesday, January 5th at the home of his sister with loved ones at his bed side.

Lester was of the Apostolic faith and a member of the Bibleway Ministries Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC) in Dothan, Alabama.

Lester leaves cherished memories with his wife, Dechauna Tensley of Dothan, Alabama; his mother, Hettie Lee Jackson of Marianna, Florida; one daughter, Catarsha Monique Tensley of Orlando, Florida; one son, Travis Levon Tensley of Seattle, Washington; one grandson, Adrian Donell Scott, Jr. of Orlando, Florida; one step-daughter, Taylor Hearns of Dothan, Alabama; one step son, D’Angelo Hearns of Dothan, Alabama; seven sisters, Karen Morgan and husband Walter, Eliza β€˜Lisa’ Jackson, Ruby Artis, Deloris Peterson and husband Charles all of Marianna, Florida, Rosa Godwin of Greenwood, Florida, Sylvia Williams and Wanda Altson and husband Ronnie both of Tallahassee, Florida; eight brothers, C.L. Tensley of Tallahassee, Florida; Robert Tensley, Allen Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Edward Williams all of Marianna, Florida, Tyrone Williams, Lester Williams both of Greenwood, Florida and Tommie Williams and wife Teresa of Plant City, Florida; favorite cousin, Jimmy Williams and wife Lillie of Greenwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, the Marianna Toyota Family and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held graveside Saturday, January 16th at 11:00a.m. at Orange Hill Cemetery with Bishop Russell Gordon, Reverend Freddie Patton, Reverend Christopher Felton and Lady Jennie Gordon officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

To Lester's family we can't even begin to tell you what a great person Lester was to us and everyone he met! He was truly one of the best friends a person could ever have ! We grew to love him many years ago and will never forget his love and friendship! You could go to Lester for anything and he would try his very best to get it done or tell you he couldn't do it he was a man of his word!
