Guthrie, Mrs. Dorothy, A resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life on January 1, 2021. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021at 11:00AM from Kindle Cemetery, Rev. Frederick Hodrick, officiating. Mrs. Guthrie will lie in state on Friday from 1-8PM at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home.

My beautiful, sweet, extremely loving Grandmother. I miss you dearly but I know you are here with us in spirit. You had a helping hand in raising ALL of your grandchildren, but played a special role in Kim's, Lashaunda's, Chris's, Jasmine's, William's, Michael's, Gevante's, and my life. Whether it be words of endearment, wisdom, or just giving us what we needed when we needed it, you were there. Your absence still hasn't resonated completely, and when it does... I just hope God and you continue to give me the strength to carry on each day without you. I still can't quite grasp the idea that you aren't here. I go into your room, every day, and just stand there. I haven't done anything to it yet. I feel like this still hasn't fully hit me. It's like a dream. I will carrie you, always, in my heart. You were the best mother anyone could be blessed to have. You were a kind friend to anyone lucky enough to call you friend and a devoted follower of Christ. I love you and miss you and still can't see my life without you in it.
