Obituary For Andrew Howard Flakes

Public Viewing for Andrew Flakes, 85, of Opelika, AL, will be Saturday, January 9, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home.

Mr. Flakes, who passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at Arbor Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center in Opelika, AL, was born April 23, 1935 in Lee County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Helen Flakes; a sister, Mary Helen Minnifield; a grandson, Carlos O. Flakes.

Mr. Flakes attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama. He retired from the Opelika Water Board.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Deborah Roberts and Ricky Flakes both of Opelika, AL; two grandchildren, Chatel Flakes and Christopher M. Flakes both of Opelika, AL; three great-grandchildren, Joisah Williams, Justin T. Gullatte and Christopher Flakes, Jr.; one brother, Willie “Head Flakes” Beard of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
