Obituary For James Parks

Parks, MR. James, “Jimmy”, A resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 1:00PM from Macedonia Baptist Church, Pastor Willie McBride, officiating. Mr. Parks will lie in repose on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 1-6PM at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home.

He Leaves to cherish his life and memories, his wife of 23 years, Rev. Wanda Wade Parks, his children Jeminez (Kristi) Parks of Atlanta, GA, Jeff Parks of Atlanta, GA, Jennifer Parks Owes of Montgomery, James J. Parks, and Noland Smith; siblings Thomas Jr (Sarah) Parks, Joseph (Bessie) Parks, Mary Helen (Julius) Hardin, John Parks (Sangunetta), Lizzie Mae Parks, and Moses Parks; grandchildren Jeffery, Jada, Lauren, Tyler, Taylor, Princeton, and Abigail; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Carrie, Mabelene, and Rebecca. He was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School class of 1966. He served his country in the United States Army retiring after 22 years including duty in the Vietnam War. He then went on to retire from a 20-year career with the State of Alabama Correctional Industries. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he labored in the children’s church until his health would no longer allow it. He was the host with the most and enjoyed every minute of having family and friends around for gatherings. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family, classmates, church members, and community. He loved us all with all his being and was always the true definition of unconditional love…
