Obituary For Irene Boyd Morgan

Irene Boyd Morgan was born on October 5, 1935 in Jefferson County, Georgia to the late K. C. and Beaulah Boyd Jenkins. On January 5, 2021, Irene quietly transitioned from her earthly home to be with the Lord.

She attended the Jefferson and the Burke county Schools and graduated from Boggs Academy. After graduation she moved New York then to Maryland.

She was baptized and accepted the Lord at an early age with the Smith Grove Baptist Church where she served as an usher and worked with the Finance Committee as well as the Missionary Society.

Irene was fortunate to obtain employment with several companies in Maryland/New York and retired in 1991. After relocating back to Georgia, she still felt the need to be involved so she gained employment with the Burke County School System as a Paraprofessional for many years until she was ready to fully retire.

Irene was a classy, sweet lady that walked with confidence and grace. She always spoke with the intent of impacting lives. She was always an aunt, grandmother, mother, sister and friend, she touched many lives. Rene loved decorating.

“Rene” as she was affectionally called was a very giving and family-oriented person. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Irene, you knew you were always welcome and she considered you a part of the family that she adored.

Irene was the oldest child of her (8) eight siblings. Irene was preceded in death by her loving parents Mr. K. C. Boyd and Beaulah Boyd Jenkins; brother K. C. Boyd, Jr.; Sisters; Mary (Boot) Hickerson, Annie Mack Thomas, Alavan (Bettye) Mack, Cousin/Sisters Myrtis Steadman, Bessie K. Holmes and niece Hope Boyd. Though Irene Boyd Morgan will be missed, her legacy will live on in her family and in the lives, she touched: Irene leaves to cherish her treasured memories with her siblings; Mrs. Katie Boyd Owens, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Mr. Frank Boyd, Richmond, VA, Mr. Grant (Delois) Boyd, Stone Mountain, GA and Ms. Beaulah Helen Boyd Mayers, Keysville, GA. Special children, Joseph, Mike, Stan and Pam, Joseph Jr., Jordan, Rene, Freddie, Inez, Mary, and Debra.
