Mr. Wilson was employed over 50 years as an Asphalt paver and had only recently retired. He was a member of Light Oak Baptist Church where he was a trustee, usher, and was a member of the senior ministry as well as performing custodial duties. He was also known as Mr. Fix It because he could literally fix anything.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ella Borders Wilson; one daughter, Sandra Chapman (Anthony); one son, Dexter Wilson (Renee); one brother, Gary Hamrick; two sisters, Mary Linda Armstrong and Katherine Sakhnini;eight grandchildren including three he helped to rear, Santara Wilson, Zorya Barrow and Bryant Petty; fifteen great-grandchildren; one grandpup; good friends, John Mobley, Michael Durant and Gene Mintz and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be private. The service will be livestreamed on FaceBook starting at 3:45 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2021. He may be viewed at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
