Graveside service for Eddie Harris, 87, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate.

Mr. Harris, who passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery, AL, was born April 17, 1933 in Macon County, Alabama.

Public viewing for Mr. Harris will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Survivors include: daughter, Brenda (Danny) Barrow; six grandchildren, John Strickland, Tarence (Carrie) Barrow, Sedrick (Tomeka) Strickland, Stephen (Kimberly) Strickland, Shanavian Strickland and DaNavian (Starone) Spratling; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; four brothers-in-law, nine sisters-in law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
