Obituary For Mrs. Margaret Ann Jones

Margaret Ann Reeder Jones, 89, transitioned from her earthly journey on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence. Margaret, lovingly known as ‘Turk’, was born on December 11, 1931 to the late Odell Reeder, Sr. and Rebecca Scurlock in Chatham County, but grew up in Jamestown, NC where she received her early education at the Florence School. She was the youngest of five siblings. Loving relatives who preceded Margaret in death were her siblings: brother, Odell Reeder Jr.; sister, Elizabeth (Virgil) Hairston; brother, William Reeder; sister, Emma Reeder; two special nephews, Julius Odell (Alice) Hairston and Thomas (Robbie) Earl Hairston. Margaret was the owner of Margaret’s Home Day Care. She was a dedicated member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Asheboro, NC. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and working puzzles. Margaret was happily married to her loving husband, the Rev. James Jones for 30 years. She became the stepmother to Cathy Freeman, Sandra Jones and Carolyn Lomax. There are several grandchildren and great grandchildren who enjoyed spending time with their grandfather and grandmother. Cherished memories are embraced by one niece, Rebecca (David) Dianne Peoples of Jamestown, NC; great nieces, Tammy (Sterling) Cobb of Kingsland, GA, Kimberly Dianne Hairston and Sherry Elizabeth Hairston of High Point, NC; one great nephew, David Peoples, Jr., of High Point NC; three great nieces, Raemi Cobb, Bethani and Karly Hairston; two great-grand nephews; Nigel Cobb and David Peoples, III. A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Mrs. Jones may be viewed Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
