Obituary For Lorene Maddox "Rene" Morgan

Graveside service for Lorene Morgan, 87, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, at Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL 36804, Reverend Jonathan Benton will officiate.

Mrs. Morgan, who passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born July 13, 1933 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing for Mrs. Morgan will be Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, John Morgan of Opelika; one son, Michael Maddox of Montgomery, AL; five daughters: Bonita Johnson of Opelika; Cathy Harris of Auburn, AL; Jacqueline Morgan of Miami, FL; Barbara Morgan of Columbus, GA, and Regina Morgan of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren: Darius, JaQuita, Courtney, Corey, Donovan, Camille, Maya, Jozlynn, and Ginasia; six great grandchildren: Kenedi, Gavin, Zavien, Zarria, Zakyaa, and Lauren; two siblings: Judge Maddox of Opelika, AL, and Virginia Hegler of Atlanta, GA; one sister-in-law, Shevy Morgan of Salem, AL; her St. Mark Church family, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
