Obituary For Mrs. Deloris Brown Adams

Deloris Brown was born on August 16, 1950 in Utica, New York to the late Ocie Holmes and Willie Brown. She was raised by several of her Aunts to include Corinne Holmes Myers. She attended Girard School in Burke County. As a teenager, she was baptized at Cochran Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for a short period of time. She was employed by President Baking formally known as Murray Biscuit Company for 20 years. She met Joseph in 1974 and they were joined in Holy Matrimony on October 28, 1977 and have been together 46 years. Deloris A.K.A Lois and Penny. She was known for her home cooking, especially her cakes (from Scratch), the love she has for her children and family, she taught and preached love. She was a very stern mother, whatever she said it went and she did not uphold you in any of your wrong doings, and she did speaking her mind. She loved music, dressing to the 9’s, and cooking for her family. Her famous words were, “who not Lois”, “because I said so”, “because I’m your mother”, and “I'm going to show you better than I call tell you”. Preceded in death by two of her grandchildren Mason Wilson and Madison Bri’Shay Birt. Leaving to mourn, but cherish her memories, her beloved husband Joseph (Big Papa) Adams, 6 children, Angela (Roy) Price, Tom Ellison III, Tina Brown Cobb, Wanda (Arkeem) Fobb, Joseph (Veronica) Adams, Shantell (Sylvester) Lamb all of Augusta, Georgia., step-daughter Deadra Adams of Baltimore Maryland, grandson raised Je’Vante McClendon of Augusta, GA, god-daughters Lisa Martin of North Augusta, SC & Catina Gresham of Atlanta, GA;, grand children Gavin Price, Gaquetta Fowler, Kalaya Staples all of Augusta, GA, Janaya Adams of Baltimore Maryland, Kar’Marcus (Meagan) Staples, Tyhiriah Adams, Joseph Adams II, Jada Adams all of Augusta, Georgia, Isaiah Richardson of Swansea, SC, Josiah Adams of Augusta GA, Jaylan Adams, Jayla Adams of Baltimore Maryland, Kiammie Leverett, Ky ‘Riana Adams, Ki’Marion Adams, great-grand’s Andrea Graham all of Augusta GA, Mason Adams of Baltimore Maryland, Aubrie Fowler, Jhazel Adams, god-granddaughter Garla Williams all of August GA, sister Annie (Rochester) Roberts of Gainesville, FL, brother Michael Ghant of Louisville GA, sisters-in-laws Rosemary Adams-Carter, Eunice Jordan, Emma Moore all of Augusta GA, Joan Adams of Atlanta GA, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:00 noon from One In Christ Baptist Church, 10345 River Road, Girard, GA 30426 All social distancing and face covering guidelines will be observed.
