Obituary For Nannie Lou Lowe

Nannie Lowe, 89, of Oak Ridge, died January 15, 2021. There will be a public viewing Friday, January 22, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will have a graveside service at St. Thomas Chapel Church, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. LIVESTREAM WILL BE AVAILABLE

Nannie born May 19, 1931 to the late Bishop Silas Thomas Florence and Lucinda Florence in Summerfield, NC. She received her heavenly wings on January 15, 2021 in her family home in Oak Ridge, N.C. after a prolonged illness. She was married to her husband of 69 years, Armentus “Pete” Lowe, Sr., who both raised 14 children. She attended and graduated from Laughlin High School in Summerfield, NC, where she was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended A&T State University with a Major in Home Economics, married and started raising her family. She was a housewife until her youngest started school then worked at Burlington Factory. She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide at L. Richardson Retirement Center for several years. She retired from KinderCare Daycare Center where she worked for 15 years. She was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. Nannie Lowe was a faithful member of St. Thomas Chapel in Summerfield, NC, where she served in various ministries to include the Missionary Board, Senior Choir and Mothers Board. She was preceded by her daughters, Arlisa and Louise Lowe; stepmother, Maybelle Florence, brothers, Leroy, Rochester and Herman Florence, and grandson, Styron Lowe.

She is survived by her husband Armentus “Pete” Lowe of Oak Ridge, NC, sisters; Mary Bradley and Carrie Jessup of New Jersey, Sons; Armentus Lowe, Jr., Lester (Denise) Lowe of McDonough, GA, Timothy Lowe, Thomas Lowe of High Point, NC, Darryl Lowe, Wendy Lowe, Dobias Lowe all of Atlanta, GA, Silas Lowe of Tahlequah, OK, daughters; Nanetta Bonita Lowe of Tahlequah, OK, Natalie Lowe of Winston-Salem, NC, Eileen (Kenneth) McCandies of Winston-Salem, NC, Elzena Lowe and Serena Lowe both of Oak Ridge, NC. Grandchildren; Philip and Patrick McCandies; Marcus and Brandon Lowe, Michael, Joshua, Precious and Matthew Lowe, Thurgood and Thurstan Lowe, Tara Janae Lowe, Reuben and Roya Roache, Alexander, Jeffery, and Dominique, Lowe. Great-grandchildren Jaden, Mahlia, Jacen, Zhori, Malachi and Ethan, and a host of friends and relatives.
