Calvin Miller, son of Leonard Miller and Emma Bell Miller was born January 25, 1952, in Neshoba County, MS. He attended public school in Rolling Fork, MS. Calvin attended Henry Weathers High School. In 1969 because of desegregation, he completed high school at Fielding L. Wright Attendance Center where he received his High School diploma. We salute Sergeant Calvin Miller as he enlisted in the United States Army in 1972. He served for 20 years before retiring from service. After returning from the army, Calvin moved back to Mississippi where he had many jobs but his passion was lawn care which he did proudly even in service to neighbors in his community. Calvin Miller was affectionately called “The Mayor of Harrison Street” for his kind, loving and helpful service to others. He had a great personality and loved to laugh and have fun. He was friendly to everyone—never meeting a stranger. No matter who you were, if you asked Calvin for help he would help. Although, Calvin never joined a church, he believed in God and accepted God as his Savior before he passed. He will be greatly missed by many. He quietly left this life Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, MS.
