Rick” Alando Ramon Cooley was born to Delores Pinkston and Alonzo Cooley on March 3, 1970 in Highland Park, MI. On January 12, 2021, he departed this earth for his everlasting home. Rick was raised in Oak Park Township, MI and graduated from Oak Park High School in 1988. He met his would-be wife, LaShron “Shonnie” Cooley, at Belle Isle on her 20th birthday in July of 1988. This was a few months after the birth of Shonnie’s first daughter, Terraceta. Rick went away to college in Jackson, MS and him and Shonnie remained friends. Around the time Rick returned to MI from college, Shonnie gave birth to her second daughter, Tatiana. As her friend, Rick helped Shonnie nurture and support her daughters, always sending them gifts and taking them for car rides, before they finally quit the friendzone and married in April of 1997. Their son, Alando Ramon Cooley II, was born in December of that year. The family relocated to Jackson, MS in November of 2000 and Rick soon became an Owner/Operator truck driver. He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend. Rick had a love for everything cars. When he came off the road to spend time with his family, he would spend hours watching car shows. He loved Budweiser beer and his favorite cereal was Corn Flakes with lots of sugar added to the bowl. He also loved to play Madden and Tekken and other video games with his kids. He enjoyed watching WWE with Alando when he was little (he would argue you down saying it was real). His favorite movies were Fast & Furious and The Matrix. He would always say we’re living in the Matrix and which pill did you take. He worked as a Dialysis Tech for many years until he decided to do what he had talked about for years, which was driving trucks. He loved driving and would be on the road for 3 weeks a month (sometimes more). Rick had an amazing smile and laugh. He was always cracking jokes and making everyone around him laugh. You couldn’t be upset for long around Rick. He loved his family and friends and would do anything to make sure everyone was alright. He never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that met him. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Delores Pritchett, Alonzo Cooley and Stepfather Ralph Pritchett.
