Obituary For Mrs. Virginia Liles

Mrs. Virginia Liles, 91, passed away Monday, January 19, 2021 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center. She was born on December 9, 1929 in Chester County, SC to the late Johnny Wilkes and Charlotte Sims. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Augusta Sanders; her second husband, L. C. Liles; two brothers, Tom Wilkes, and Gus Wilkes.

Known by family and friends as "Big Mama,” Virginia enjoyed cooking, cleaning, going on vacations and was known for keeping it real and making people laugh. She was the oldest member at Living Water Baptist Church and was the Mother of the Church.

Virginia is survived by three children, Thelmore Sanders, Jennifer S. Smith, Belinda Sanders; two grandsons who she raised as her own, Thomas Sanders and Joevonnie Sanders; twelve grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A private funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. Mrs. Liles may be viewed on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
