Obituary For Brenda Gibbons Yancey

Brenda (Gibbons) Yancey departed this life On Saturday, January 16, 2021. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at New Hope A.M.E. Church, Grange Georgia with MASK and SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED. Brenda was born in Glascock County, Georgia to the parentage of Lorea Brown Gibbons and the late Willie Gibbons, Sr.. Brenda grew up with an understanding of faith in God’s grace, mercy and love as a member of New Hope AME Church. Brenda attended Louisville High School and graduated in the class of 1978. Her immense love for learning new things lead her to enroll in courses at Sandersville Technical College. She worked several years for Delilah Textile Company where she developed numerous lasting friendships. Brenda’s love for children guided her to serve as a Substitute Teacher for the Jefferson County School System until her health begin to fail in 2019. Brenda leaves to cherish her most precious memories with her 3 children, Tarquanius F. Farmer, Adrianuna W. Yancey of Louisville, Georgia and Brisha L. Yancey of Augusta, Georgia; 6 grandchildren, including KobeT.Valles, whom she raised as her own, Ja’Nya Farmer, Austin Mitchell, Tarquanius Farmer, Jr., Peyton Brantley, and Lauren Williams; her mother Lorea B. Gibbons three sisters: Diane Brown, Florence Cunningham(Eugene) of Louisville, Georgia, and Denise Eaton(Leon) of Clinton, Maryland, three brothers: William Gibbons, Jr. (Teresa) of Midville, Georgia, Leon Gibbons and Larry Gibbons of Louisville, Georgia; and a host of loving caring relatives which includes: aunts, uncles, two brother-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, a Godchild Tiffany Cooper, special family friend Tiwatha Gilmore and a special cousin Elisha Davis. To the family my condolences go out to you. Growing up as the neighbor and friend of Brenda I remember all the times we had. Playing in the streets where everyone engaged in a time of just having fun and she truly loved having fun and being involved and seeing people have fun. We love you Brenda Family and Friend and Sister you will be missed.
