Thomas Jackson Payne was the youngest of three sons born to the late Will Payne and Louise Grant Payne in Americus, Georgia on May 11, 1930. With a 3rd grade education from within the Sumter County Public School System, Mr. Payne went on to become a sharecropper and self-made carpenter that built cabinets for many families here in Fort Pierce, FL. Mr. Payne was well known for his wooden “piggy” banks. He was affectionately known sometimes as “Tee” or “Bank Man” by his family and friends.

Mr. Payne loved the Lord and raised his family watching a lot of Billy Graham Evangelistic Ministries, Pastor T.D. Jakes, and Pastor Creflo Dollar. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Some of his favorite hobbies were going to the Fort Pierce Jai-Alai and Palm Beach Dog Track, as well as, playing poker and watching football and baseball.
