Mrs. Burney, who passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born March 8, 1956 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing for Mrs. Burney will be Friday, January 23, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
At an early age, she confessed Christ and united with Community Church of Jesus #3 in Opelika, Alabama (Beauregard Community) and later joined Restoration of Faith Ministries in Columbus, Georgia where she was ordained as a Prophet in February 2020.
She graduated from Opelika High School Class of 1974. Sarah attended Southern Union Community College before receiving her MBA Degree in Business Administration from Phoenix University in Columbus, Georgia. In 2013, she was inducted into the National & International Honor Society of Delta Mu Delta for Business. She was an Outreach Coordinator at Auburn University for many years. She enjoyed cooking (baking) and writing, but above all, she loved the Lord and her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Charlie Burney of Opelika, AL; three daughters, Sajata Reese (Stanley Alexander) of Auburn, AL, Whitney Burney and Jalesha Simone Burney both of Opelika, AL; two grandchildren, Joshuaa Alexander and Jayden Burney; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Kelly of Covington, GA and Linda Standifer of Griffin, GA; two brothers-in-law, Lester (Carmon) Burney of Lithonia, GA and Johnny Burney of Norcross, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
