My heart is full of sadness to the family of Thomas Blake Goolsby, the father of my nephew, Dejuan Blake Snead. In the mid seventies, Blake was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia on the USS America. He had many shipmate friends in particular , Edward "BD" Barksdale, and Kenny Neal. Later he met Willie Ducre who also became a good friend. Thomas's shipmates nicknamed him "Rat" and that's who he Became to us in Virginia. A quiet, friendly person, who would do anything for you. Fun to be around and loved to play our Sat bid whist Sat. challenge games. We love you Rat, hate that you are gone to soon. May God bless Dejuan, Mike, Marie, Melvina, his grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
