Obituary For Phyllis Ann Terry

Ms. Phyllis Ann Terry Kiniel made her transition from this life on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born on November 4, 1935 in Eastwood, NC, a daughter of the late Lemuel and Edith Ann Morrison Kiniel. Phyllis was also preceded in death by four sisters, Theola “Jack” Hargrove, Juanita Russell, Colleen “Cane” Terry and Larcenia “Cene” McCoy; three brothers, Quinzell “Nut” Kiniel, Bishop Lynn “June” Kiniel and James “Speedy” Kiniel; her ex-husband, Richard “Zack” Terry; and the fathers of her children, Marion “June” Bell, Sr., and Willie Andrews; one son-in-law, Thomas Bragg. Phyllis was previously employed upon arriving to High Point at the Chicken Poultry, Tomlinson Furniture, Burlington Industries, and Marsh Furniture. She accomplished the task of being a certified Senior Aide and social worker for the Department of Social Services when it was in the basement of the Daniel Brooks Center. Her 85 years of life have left a legacy not only with her own family, but also with her Daniel Brooks family as well. The days of villages raising the kids were part of her strong beliefs, meaning anybody and everybody in the village could get it from the protectors with love. Phyllis relocated from Harrison Street to Daniel Brooks 51 years ago. The last of the great no-nonsense protectors has journeyed to a lighter and brighter life beyond. Cherishing her memories are her three children, Deborah Bragg, Marion Bell, Jr., and Carolyn (Barry) McClain; two sisters, Edith Georgetta Williams, and Lorraine Williams; ten grandchildren; eighteen plus great-grandchildren; and a village of nieces, nephews, and friends; a very special and devoted granddaughter, Darrica (Michael) Terry; and niece, Trumela (Keith) Crawford.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Mom, I am still numb with unbelief. I love you so much that it is hard to express in just words. We grew so much closer because of some of the ailments and complaints we shared. Rest easy mom no more pain and confusion. I love you to life, but God has the last say so and he never makes a mistake
