Claudia Leanna Kennedy Jackson (Sista), 64, was born January 15, 1957, to the late Elizabeth Kennedy, in Logan West Virginia. She was the second of three children.

Her mother moved the family from Logan to Cleveland Ohio while Claudia was still young. She was educated in the Cleveland Public School system. She graduated with honors from East technical High School in 1975. She furthered her education at Dyke College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1988. Shortly afterwards, she began her career with the Department of Defense as a Contract Auditor from which she retired & received her 30 years of service certificate last year.

Claudia accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Second New Hope Church, under the late Pastor George Q Brown. She was a member at Bethany Christian Church in Cleveland, Ohio until she was transferred to Greensboro, North Carolina. She joined the Sharpe Road Church of Christ under the leadership of Nicholas Glenn. But the walls of the Church could not retain Claudia. She was forever spreading our Heavenly Father’s word to all she met! She always had a word of encouragement, wisdom & love to everyone she encountered. She was a friend, mother & sister to all. She had a beautiful smile and genuine heartfelt warmth for everyone. If you never knew what true love meant, you knew it when you met Claudia! It was often said that she never met a stranger. She enjoyed spreading the Word to uplift and encourage others. She made everyone feel welcome (like they were family) as if she had known you since the day you were born! She was always willing to lend a hand when needed.

Claudia was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She had battled her illnesses for a long time. She was in constant pain but you never knew how much pain. She always had a warm smile & managed to stay positive. Her strength kept her family strong. She was a foster mother, mentor to teens and young adults. She was also a counselor to many.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children Latasha and Donnell (Jennifer) fiancé; her grandchildren: Andre, Christian, Brandon, Morgan and Lydia; her great-granddaughter: Makayla; her brother: Clarence and her sister Darlene; one niece: LaTanya; one nephew: Dominique and two great-nephews; along with many cousins and friends.

A Spirit Never Dies By(Sista) (Claudia Kennedy)

When someone we love passes We are left with many different feelings and memories I say we Because, their presence and spirit has touched so many people Known and unknown to the family Everyone is left with a different memory Accompanied by sadness and a longing for the loved one’s presence Take comfort in knowing That whatever grief and pain we are feeling today, tomorrow, and the months to follow is alright. One day we will all rejoice in the memory Of how the loved one touched each of our lives And how we were all blessed in some form or another by their spirit. A spirit will never pass away Because of the memories that we each shared with the spirit Who has left this world of pain and misery to return to their creator. Our heavenly father God.
