Mary Ruth Collins Coleman began her life’s journey on June 10, 1927, to the union of Rufus Collins and Sallie Wills Collins in Pell City, Alabama.

At a young age, Mrs. Coleman dedicated her life to Christ and united with Rocky Zion Baptist Church where she served in numerous capacities to give God glory. She was a graduate of St. Clair County Training School. After completing her education, she found her professional niche in retail. At the age of 21, Mary had found love and on January 14, 1949, she and Johnnie Coleman were united in holy matrimony.

On January 27, 2021, Mary began her eternal journey. She was reunited in eternity with her husband, Johnnie Coleman; a son, Timothy W. Coleman; a granddaughter, Aundrea D. Pope; her parents, Rufus and Sallie Collins; and four siblings, Claudia Threatt, Finus Collins, Carrie E. Nobles and Johnny Collins.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Elaine Coleman Fomby of Lincoln, Alabama, Libbye Coleman (Bennie) Hill of Huntsville, Alabama and Johnna Coleman McGowan of Anniston, Alabama; one son, Eric M. (Annette) Coleman of Talladega, Alabama; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and a host other relatives and friends.
