Gertie had a kind, loving Spirit. I use to hear that I had a twin and we looked so much a lot. We were short a like and we did favor. Cousin Gertie touched the lives of all those she came in contact with; she made their lives better and if you were in not so good of a mood, when you came in the Presence of her, your mood would become joyful! You would be smiling and laughing, she had a sense of humor about herself. Cousin Gertrude you will be missed. I'm so glad you are not suffering any more. I am glad you are in a good place now; and don't have to be concern with all of what this world has going on you are in Peace. R.I.P.

I had the pleasure of meeting and spending some time with "Aunt Gertie" as everyone called her. She was a sweet and sassy lady. I know she will be missed. Take care and know that God will see through this time. My sincerest condolences to the Hickerson family and my prayers are with you. Victoria Carter
