Daniel Sadler

Daniel Sadler was born March 20, 1953 in York County, South Carolina to the late Martha Jane Sadler Bigger and Rufus Crawford Sr. He departed this life on Sunday night, January 24, 2021 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Daniel attended school in his early years at the Roosevelt School in Clover, SC before transferring to Clover High School where he completed the tenth grade. Daniel’s work career began at a young age before going into the textile industry and working as a “doffer” at Burlington Industries. After working countless years in the textile industry, he moved on to Landscaping and worked at Duke Energy before venturing out on his own. He took pride in his work and made sure each job was done in perfection.

Daniel was an avid fan of sports, but the game of “Baseball” was his heart. He played baseball for the Oakridge Sluggers for many years and he dominated in the sport he loved so much. He LOVED his family and wore many titles, Daddy, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle Dan, Uncle Daddy but the one near and dear to him was the name “Paw” given to him by his oldest grandchild Brittany. He had a kind and giving spirt about him and would give you his last if you needed it.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Lee Bigger; two brothers, Harry Sadler and James “Cory” Crawford and stepsister, Alma Adams.

Daniel leaves to cherish his fond memories~ Two daughters, Dedra Glenn of Gastonia, NC and Rhonda Pearson (Reginald) of Rock Hill, SC; Two sons, Daniel Thomas (Stacy) of Dallas, NC and Jeremy Leach of Gastonia, NC; Six sisters, Barbara Ann Gbaa of Lake Wylie, SC, Wanda Faye Woods (Rev. Charles) of Gastonia, NC, Marlene Bigger and Bertha Bigger both of Charlotte, NC, Mamie Ann Crawford Patterson and Katrina Crawford both of Gastonia, NC; Sister in-law, Sarah Sadler of Gastonia, NC; Two brothers, Anthony Lee Bigger (Carmen) of Lake Wylie, SC and Rufus Crawford Jr. of Ontario, Canada; Six aunts, Bobbie Jo Sadler Jennings (Willie), Mary Helen Floyd and Dianne Floyd all of Gastonia, NC, Lola Brown and Lily Kendrick both of Clover, SC and Dorothy McCorkle of Mt. Holly, NC; Six uncles, Alfonso Sadler of Dover, DE, Tommy Lee Sadler and John Henry Sadler (Linda), William Crawford all of Charlotte, NC, Paul Edward Sadler and Randy Tate both of Gastonia, NC. He also leaves 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a special God Grandson Michael Rice and a host of other relatives and friends.

Walk thru viewing at the funeral home on Saturday; January 30, 2021 from 2 until 4.

A private service will be held by the family.

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia

Masks are required and private service will be live on Gregory Funeral Service facebook page on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
