Obituary For Donald " Smokey" Vinson

- The Obituary - Mr. Donald Vinson was born to the late Florine Vinson Jones and R.C. White on September 28, 1965 in Gadsden, Alabama. At an early age, he accepted Christ. His education came from the Gadsden City School system. He worked at Koch’s Food for 28 years until he became ill. He united in marriage to Rebecca Ann Vinson on September 23, 1988. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Donald Vinson, 55, transitioned from earth to Heaven on January 27, 2021 at Riverview Regionald Medical Center Hospital in Gadsden, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florine Jones and R.C. White; stepfather, Henry Jones and sister, Linda Faye Vinson. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife and best friend of 33 years, Rebecca Vinson of Gadsden, AL; two daughters, Sheilisa (Brandon) Vinson and Melody (Dexter) Robertson, both of Gadsden, AL; two sons, Jarvis and Donald Gill of Gadsden, AL; his grandsons and sidekicks, Karmello DeVon Collins, Dalaz R’Nez Easley, Evan Montana Gill, Zayden Xavier Kimble and Debron Card; granddaughters, Lauren Haily Robertson, Tarin Amia Gill, Bella Jai Gill and Peyton Gill, all of Gadsden, AL; his sisters, Sheila (Michael Todd) Middleton of Gadsden, AL, LaToya White and Misty Dewberry of Dayton, OH; brothers, Michael Brookins of Athens, GA, Henry Earl (Arzetta) Jones of St. Louis, MO, R.C. (Alisa) White, Jr. of Dayton, OH; stepbrother, Marvin (Mary) Jones of Oxford, AL; sisters-in-law, Mary Page Todd, Debra Bahomed and Arellia Page, all of Gadsden, AL; brother-in-law, Lee Page of Gadsden, AL; uncle, Carl Vinson of Dayton, OH; special nephew, Brandon Vinson; special niece, LaKendra Taylor; special cousin, Timothy Vinson; special daughter, Jennifer Ford; special friends, William “Bossman” Hughley, Jr., D.C. Williams, Richard Cunning, Ocie Hope and Jason (his porch buddy) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr.Donald "Smokey" Vinson 55, Gadsden, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Vinson Public viewing and visitation will be 5-7 P.M. sunday, Jan 30, 2021 at West Gadsden Chapel Funeral services will be Monday, February 1, 2021 at the 16th Street Baptist Church burial in Lincoln Hill Cemetery with Rev.
