For most of her career, Norma taught kindergarteners and first graders in New City, Liberty, and Suffern, NY. One of her principals described her as a "quiet, behind the scenes leader, though often she let her real ideas be known. She was one of the most talented, capable, dedicated educators to ever teach children. They truly loved her and never wanted to let her down."
Norma retired and moved to Seven Lakes, NC, and then to Durham, NC. During her retirement, she was deeply involved at Seven Lakes Chapel in the Pine and Epworth UMC, her Croasdaile Village community, golf, traveling, and more. She loved music, roses, laughed a lot, and was a great cook. She listened well and chose her words carefully. She set the bar high on how to grow old gracefully. Norma gave "The Meaning of Service" church presentation describing, "We must think more about others than we do ourselves." and she did.
Norma Aaron passed on 1/29/21. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed. The family is grateful for all the kind words and great stories shared for Norma's life well lived. Norma's service will be held in Durham's Croasdaile Village's chapel with Epworth UMC joining on 2/21 at 2 pm ET and live-streamed due to COVID restrictions.
