Otis Grant, III, was born September 30, 1957, to the parentage of Marion Gilbert Grant and Otis Grant, Jr., at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He transitioned into eternal life on February 1, 2021.

Otis accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child, and drifted away as a young man, but as the Word of God promised, he returned to his first love, joining Kingdom Life Ministries, Int’l in Talladega, AL. At KLMI he served as Chief Operating Officer, part of the Leadership Team, Men’s Ministry, and was an ordained deacon. He loved God with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength.

He was educated in Atlanta Public Schools, graduating from Archer High School in 1977. He received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Talladega College, where he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Otis found his career niche in the automobile industry as a sales and leasing agent in 1983 at Ralph Collins Ford in Talladega, AL. He subsequently worked for Sunny King Ford in Anniston, Sylacauga Autoplex, Jim Prueitt Cadillac, Bill Stanford Automotive and most recently, McSweeney Auto Group in Pell City. Otis’ outgoing personality and love for people, fueled his passion and love for all of his customers to receive the best deal possible, and he NEVER forgot a single one.

An avid sports fan, none was more favored than his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, Los Angeles Lakers and hometown Braves. He was a chef in his own right and loved being in the kitchen creating and preparing food for family and friends. He loved leading, traveling, fine dining and was an exceptional artist. And though he loved these things, only his love for God rivaled the love he had for family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Pamela Grant.

Otis married his college sweetheart, on Nov. 14, 1986, and to this union God gave five children and eight grandchildren to love. Cherishing his life and memory are his wife, Nola; children, Reginald (Tanzania) Grant of Atlanta, GA, Cynara (Kendrick) Clayton, Kayla Grant, Ezekiel Grant and Marshea’ Grant of Talladega, AL; grandchildren, Rashunda, Taliq, Reginald, Jr., Zerena, Kylen, Nolen, Nyla and Kavion; siblings, Charlene (Tony) Underwood, Cathy Grant, Kelvin Grant and Karen Waters, all of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Sylvia Craig of Atlanta, GA; mother-in-law, Clara Embry of Talladega, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Taylor of Oxford, AL and Joy (Hamilton) Frazier of Lincoln, AL; brothers-in-law, Douglas Embry of Talladega, AL, Lacy (Teresa) Embry of Tuscaloosa, AL and Joshua Embry of Lincoln, AL; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins that he knew and supported by name.
