Janice Denise Mackey, 56, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 29, 2021 at MUSC Health Lancaster. Ms. Mackey was the daughter of the late Leon Sr. and Dorothy Mae Johnson Mackey. She was born on August 17, 1964 in Lancaster County, South Carolina.

Ms. Mackey was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Ms. Mackey was educated in the Lancaster County School System. She was a 1982 graduate of Lancaster High School.

She leaves to cherish fond memories one son, Demond Mackey (Conneshia) of Lancaster, SC; five brothers, Leon Mackey of Lancaster, SC, Lee A. Mackey (Vonnie) of Charlotte, NC, Wendell Mackey (Priscilla) of Heath Springs, SC, Jonathan Catledge of Chester, SC, and Andrew Mickles of Lancaster, SC and one sister, Jennifer Catledge of Winnsboro, SC

Funeral service will be Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Services will be conducted by Reverend Otis Lathan. Viewing will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Stewart Funeral Home.
