On April 4, 1938, Wallace Randle Glover and Gussie Mitchell Glover of Talladega, Alabama welcomed a daughter, Mary Luvinia Glover, to their family.

At a young age, Ms. Glover committed her life to Christ and found her church home at Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Talladega County Training School. Mary relocated to the Metro Atlanta area and found her new church home at Israel Baptist Church where she and her family worshipped, and her children were baptized. Mary worked hard to provide for her family throughout the years until she decided it was time to move on to another phase of life after working in customer service at Sam’s Club. On February 24, 1999, Arthur L. Cheeley took Mary’s hand in holy matrimony and they made their home in Greenville, Georgia. During her time in Greenville, Mary worshipped at New Springfield Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until her passing. When Mary was not caring for her husband and children, she found joy in traveling, singing, baking, cooking, sewing and fishing. Her children emphasized that she had a strong belief in “spare the rod, spoil the child.”

On the morning of February 2, 2021, Mary joined other family members in eternity. She was welcomed by her parents, Wallace and Gussie Glover; two brothers, Robert Miller and Willie C. Glover; three sisters, Carolyn Taylor, Lucille Keith and Juanita Storey; and two children, Terrie Adams and Darrell Biggs.

The memories of Mrs. Cheeley will remain forever in the heart of her husband, Arthur L. Cheeley of Greenville, Georgia; seven children, Denise (Carlton) Warren of McDonough, Georgia, Floristine Biggs of Atlanta, Georgia, Cedric Glover of Talladega, Alabama, Derrick (Zandra) Verden of Stockbridge, Georgia, Johnny (Carla) Terry of McDonough, Georgia, Gwendolyn Gaines of Riverdale, Georgia and Keanna Cheeley of Henry County, Georgia; one sister, Naomi Ragland of Lithonia, Georgia; a son-in-law, Marvin Adams of Ellenwood, Georgia; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
