Loretta Claxton Jones was born in Lynchburg, VA, to the late George Claxton, Sr. and Esther Patrick Claxton Scott. She peacefully departed Feb 2, 2021, in her home, with her family by her side.

The visitation will be held at Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 2608 NC Hwy 55, Durham, NC, from 1pm-2pm, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, followed by the graveside service at 2:30pm in Markham Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC.
