Deacon Anthony “Lad” Reddick was born August 7, 1956. Deacon Reddick was born and raised in Sylvania, Georgia, a city that he loved dearly.

In Sylvania, he attended public school and was a graduate of Screven County High School, class of 1975. While attending, he was very active in sports, such as track-and-field and football. He excelled highly on the football field. Deacon Reddick joined the United House of Prayer for All People in the early eighties, shortly after he was made a Deacon by Elder J. Kilcrease, now Apostle Kilcrease.

In November 1980, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Reddick. He moved his family to Augusta, Georgia in 1986. He was employed by the state of Georgia for twenty-five years. After retirement, he worked for Lizziy’s Adult Daycare, where he worked with his best friend, Mr. Dyson, and enjoyed every day.

Deacon Reddick was preceded in death by: mother, Mary E. Johnson; father, Thomas Overstreet; step-mother, Mary Overstreet; stepfather, James Johnson; maternal grandmother, Mattie Cooper; paternal grandmother, Valerie Ellison; great-grandfather, Sam Reddick; sister, Gloria Lewis; son, Xavier Jenkins; and grandsons, Asher and Josiah Reddick.

He was known to many as “Lad” and to some as “Beave”. He was a loving husband, a spectacular father to his children, and a father figure to those that didn’t have a figure in their life. He took them into his heart as if they were his own. Deacon Reddick was known for his contagious personality, smile, sense of humor, his dedication to anyone or anything he was a part of, and his passion for grilling. He was known around the city as “The Rib Man.”

“Dec” leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Evelyn Reddick; son, Enrickki Jenkins; daughters, Antonette Reddick, Laquitor (Authur) Cooper, Nadia Reddick, and adopted daughter, Yasmine Huff; sisters, Dianne (Ulysses) Jackson, Sheska Essex, Joyce (Louis) Major, LaShara (Garrett) Oliver, Chazell Bedford, Maggie Twiggs, Linda Moore, and Georgia Coley; brothers, Ranaud (Evelyn) Overstreet, Stanley Overstreet, Larry Moore, and Thomas (Sandra) Williams; aunts, Angie Foster, and Beverly Chandler; great-great-aunts, Pearl Jordan, and Earline Maultsby; uncles, Rudolph Overstreet, and Robert Ellison; great-uncle, Evans Overstreet, Norman Brown, and Calvin (Lillie) Cooper; sisters-in-love, St. Reba Verden, Peggy Ford, Clyde Sheppard, and Gloria (Johnny) Kilcrease; grandchildren, Chelsea and Chloe Jenkins, Ja’Lohni Page, and Zachary Wright, Jonah Reddick, Paisley Huff, Palmez Brihm, Pasona Hopkins, and Zykeith Gray; one great-grandchild, Ajarie Hopkins; god-children, Elder Navarro Stewart, Ira Stewart, Jerrell Frazier, Javon Brinson, Elicia Holland, Zykerish “Kiki” Chappell, Kourvoisier Russell, and Michael Taylor; extended family, the Russell family, the Westley family, and the Burnette family; his special Valentine’s, Zion and Bailey Brantley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
