Obituary For Michael Mack

Michael was born on May 31, 1961 and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He transitioned from his earthly home on January 29, 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

His family moved to NC in 1978 and he was a 1980 graduate of Hunter Huss High School and was on the football team. This is where he met his wife, Janice Mack. They were high school sweethearts. Michael is a veteran of The United States Marine Corps from 1980 - 1989. He served as a Special Forces Sergeant.

Pastor Michael & Janice Mack are the Senior Pastors at Power In The Word Outreach Ministry, 418 W. Main Ave., Gastonia, NC 28052 where they provide food, clothing and shelter for the homeless. Michael also provided assistance at the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles, CA where he was really honored and loved. Outreach ministry was what Michael loved to do daily. Michael’s favorite quote was: “We are God’s extended hands here on the earth”.

Michael attended Los Angeles Community College and San Diego Community College. He was currently attending CCAPP Academy and studying to become a Substance Abuse Counselor.

He really loved football. His favorite football team was the New York Giants. His favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers.

He is preceded in death by his father: Wendell Wilkie Mack, Sr., and twin brother and sister: Ronald and Donna Mack.

Precious memories will forever be cherished by his wife: Janice Mack; mother: Martha Pryor of Gastonia, daughters: Latisha Mack, Dominique Mack, Monee Mack, and S. Cherie Porter (Bernardo); sons: Arthur McDowell, Jr. and George McDowell of Gastonia; one grandson: Mauri Mack of California; fourteen additional Grandchildren, four great-grandchildren of NC. Brothers: Wendell Mack, Jr. (Monkeia) of Charlotte and Gregory Mack (Priscilla) of Lowell, twin sister- Michele Carter (Ronald) of Charlotte, one aunt: Frances McRae of Salisbury and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Walk thru viewing on Saturday; February 6, 2021 at the funeral home from 4 until 7

Funeral on Sunday; February 7, 2021 at Holy Jerusalem Life Changing Ministry, Gastonia at 3:00 p.m.
